Colquitt track teams
win 10 gold medals

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt girls and boys track teams combined to win 10 gold, four silver and seven bronze medals at Wednesday’s meet at the high school.
Teams from Brooks County, Coffee, Lowndes, Pelham and Thomasville also competed.
On senior recognition day, five Colquitt County 12th-graders combined to win six individual gold medals.
Bryce Toomer had two first-place finishes, winning both the discus and shot put events.
He had a 159-2.5 to win the discus. His 53.8 earned him first place in the shot put.
Also taking a gold medal for the Packers was Ja’Shar Kinsey won the high jump with a 6-4.
For the Lady Packers, senior Aziah McNeal won the 100-meter dash with a 12.86.
Melissa Breedlove was first in 1,600 meters with a time of 6:36.11.
Underclassmen who earned gold medals were Isaiah Wingfield, who won the triple jump with a 45-2.5, and Silvester Carolina was first in the 400-meter dash with a 50.89.
Three relay teams also took first-place finishes.
The girls 4×800-meter relay team of Melissa Breedlove, Monai Alexander, Marley Kelley and Blakelee Lehman won the gold medal with a 13:23.48.
The boys 4×400-meter relay team of Kamari Fuller, Isaiah Wingfield, JaShar Kinsey and Silvester Carolina was first with a time of 3:35.71.
The boys 4×800-meter relay team also finished first with a time of 9:55.58. It included Kendall Covin, Braiden Terrel, Kamarion Rambo and Cheveiyo Barber.
Earning individual silver medals were Blakelee Lehman, with a 7:52.36 in the 1,600 meters, and Azaria Battle, with a 89-5 in the discus.
The Colquitt County girls 4×400 relay team of SeMyiah Lewis, Ta’Meria Williams, MiJoy Richardson and Keyonnah Lawton earned a silver medal with a time of 4:41.43.
The Colquitt 4×200-meter boys team of Nyran Spivey, Dyi’Quavian James, Ameri Knighton and Jalen Clayton won silver with a 1:30.31.
Earning bronze medals for the Lady Packers were Melissa Breedlove with a 2:48.12 in the 800-meter run; Ty’yona Revels with a 51:43 in the 300-meter hurdles; and Azaria Battle with a 32-4.25 in the shot put.
Taking third-place finishes for the Packers were John Parker Harrison with 6-0 high jump; Arbashaun Curry with a 19.95 long jump; and NiShawn Osby with a 43-5 in the triple jump.
The Colquitt County girls 4×100-meter relay team of MiJoy Richardson, Samiya Fuller, Ta’Meria Williams and Aziah McNeal earned a bronze medal for a 51.40 in the 4×100-meter relay.
The Colquitt County track teams will compete next in the Region 1-6A meet to be held April 22-23 at Valdosta.
