MOULTRIE — The 74th Annual National Day of Prayer will be celebrated May 1, at the downtown amphitheater. This year’s theme is taken from Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
During the event, which starts at noon, prayers will be made by various local pastors and community members — including Mayor Bill McIntosh, who will give the opening prayer.
The Colquitt County High School JROTC will present the colors and Richard Edwards will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Prayers will be made for the military, government, health care community, business community, education community, first responders, arts/entertainment and for families.
The program will end with Edwards performing “God Bless America.”
