Progress is being made on the old Colquitt Theatre’s facade in its transformation into an Italian restaurant, where Rocco’s Italian Streetfood Food Truck will make its transformation into “Rocco’s Ristorante, at the Theatre.” The historical theatre was originally built in 1942 and remodeled in 1956-1958 after a fire decimated it. The Colquitt Theatre was in operation until 1978, when it closed its doors as a movie house. In 1996, it was given a new life as the Senior Center until 2020.
