MOULTRIE – Moss Farms divers Beck and Amelia Gregory each won four medals at the recent Carolina BIG DIVE in Huntersville, N.C.
And one of the medals was a bronze they shared for placing third in the mixed 3-meter synchronized diving event.
Beck also finished first in both the 3-meter and platform events and was second on 1-meter in the 14-15 boys group.
His gold-medal winning score on 3-meter was 378.30. Andy Williamson of the North Carolina Dive Club was second with a 360.05.
On platform, Beck won with a 386.20. Williamson again was second, 74.45 points back at 311.60.
Amelia earned three silver medals for her second-place finishes on both springboards and platform in the 12-13 age group.
Beck and Amelia also competed in the Wendy Waldman Memorial Invitational held March 7-9 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with Amelia taking first place on both springboards and platform.
Her performance earned her a tie with Samantha Petroff of Aces Diving of Columbus, Ohio, for the invitational’s girls high point award.
Beck was first on platform and third on 3-meter at the Wendy Waldman Memorial.
Five other Moss Farms divers competed in the BIG DIVE, including 34-year-old coach Yauheni Karaliou, who scored a 272.2 in the 1-meter master’s silver men’s division.
Elizabeth Ann Hobby, diving in the 16-18 girls group, earned bronze medals on both 3-meter and platform and was fifth on 1-meter.
Selah Huante was third on platform, sixth on 3 -meter and eighth on 1-meter.
Sofiya Karaliova was third on 10-11 girls 1-meter intermediate and eighth on 3-meter novice.
Nora Kate Taylor was first on 1-meter in 10-11 intermediate and second on 3-meter in 10-11 novice.
The annual BIG DIVE drew 203 divers.
Moss Farms divers will compete next in the YMCA Nationals, scheduled for April 10-12, at the Rosen Aquatic Center in Orlando, Fla.
The Diving Tigers also are preparing for the USA Diving Region 3 Championships, to be held April 26-27 in Tallahassee.
Divers will compete there for berths in the Zone B championships, which will be held June 5-8 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Junior Nationals will be held July 25-Aug. 3 in Mission Viejo, Calif.
