TALLAHASSEE – Florida State kicker Ryan Fitzgerald unveiled his All-American brick on Saturday during a Legacy Weekend ceremony in front of the Moore Athletics Center.
Also honored was Seminoles punter Alex Mastromanno.
The two were named first-team All-Americans by the American Football Coaches Association after the 2024 season.
They became the first kicker and punter from the same school to earn that distinction.
They join the list of Florida State All-Americans that also includes Deion Sanders, Charlie Ward, Warrick Dunn, Derrick Brooks, Dalvin Cook, Marvin Jones and others.
Fitzgerald, who went to Florida State after a record-setting high school career at Colquit County, was 13-for-13 on field goal attempts, including 5-for-5 on attempts from at least 50 yards, last season.
His five 50-yard field goals are the most by a Florida State kicker in school history and he graduated with the second-, third- and seventh-longest field goals by a Seminole.
Fitzgerald made 58 field goals during his five seasons in Tallahassee.
Fitzgerald thanked by Florida State head coach Mike Norvell and special teams coordinator John Papuchis.
“Obviously, a big shout out to coach Norvell, just pushing me to be my best every single day,” he said. “And the same with Coach JP, just unwavering belief in me to be my best and to see the potential that I had.”
Fitzgerald and Mastromanno are expected to be picked in next month’s NFL draft or signed as a free agent.
