PERRY – The Colquitt County FFA Floriculture Team placed 1st in the state competition, Saturday, at the Perry Fair State Career Development Events.
Twelve teams competed from all across the state. Floriculture annually has the highest number of state-wide participants, which in turn makes it one of the hardest contests to compete in.
The students competed in the General Knowledge Horticulture Test, Problem Solving Questions, Plant Disorders/Tools, 25 Random Plants out of a learned list of 100, a 45-Minute Team Activity and 8-minute presentation and a Hands on Plant Practicum. Lucas Babb was the highest scoring competitor.
