take first-place finishes

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County middle school girls and boys track teams took first-place finishes at the recent Packers Middle School Invitational at Colquitt County High School.
The middle school girls scored 170 points in the seven-team field.
Cairo’s Washington Middle School was second with 85.5 points.
Colquitt County’s boys team scored 135 points to claim first place.
Bainbridge Middle School was second with 109 points.
Also competing were the teams from Americus-Sumter County, Cook and MacIntyre Park middle schools and from Thomasville’s Brookwood School.
Taking first-place finishes for the middle school girls were McKenzie Wright, 1,600-meter run; Maikairi James, high jump; and Maleah Carr, long jump.
Also placing first were the 4×100 A relay team of Makairi James, Maleah Carr, Addison Wiley and Taylor Brown and the 4×400 relay team Mea Rodriquez, Casia Singletary, Aniajah Moore and Makairi James.
Earning silver-medal finishes were Kaylee Diaz, 800-meter run; and the 4×400 B relay team of Addison Wiley, Kaylee Diaz, Taylor Brown Dyi James.
Taking third-place finishes were Mia Rodriguez, 400 meters; Ra’kyja Sumlin, shot put; and Tnyha Young, discus.
Also competing for the girls team in individual events were Casia Singletary, Kendall Pettis, Elly Brinkley, Dy James, Addison Wiley, Hayden Champion, Brooklyn Hatcher, Anaijah Moore, Stella Alderman, Taylor Brown, Kaniyah Brown, Damijahe Downs, Nyovia Blackwell and Delyzsha Tillman.
Taking first-place finishes for the boys team were Ty’vhyr Young in both the shot put and discus; Ki’ahj Madison, 400 meters; Colt Sullivan, 1,600 meters; the 4×100 A relay team of Jaiden Brown, Demetric Salaam, JP Harrison and Ricky Davis; and the 4×400 A relay team of Ricky Davis, JP Harrison, Ki’Ahj Madison and Trotter Tomlinson.
Taking second-place finishes for the boys were Trotter Tomlinson, 800 meters and 1,600 meters; and Demetric Salaam, high jump.
Winning third-place bronze medals were Ricky Davis, 200 meters and John Harrison, high jump.
Also representing the Colquitt County boys team were Dareon Rolle, Raven Hooks, Cameron Williams, Braiden Terrell, Pate Vines, Braylen King, Chase Singletary, Lathyn Jones, Cambric Jones, Ayden Rodriguez, Braylen King and Daylen Peebles.
