JV soccer teams win,
remain undefeated

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County junior varsity soccer teams won a pair of games on Monday at Packer Park and are still unbeaten.
The Lady Packers scored seven goals in the first half and went on to defeat Westover 9-0.
Scoring the first-half goals were Dru McLeod, who had four; Kamilla Del Angel, who hit the back of the net twice; and Yulissa Torres, who scored once.
McLeod added her fifth goal in the mercy-rule shortened second half. Kinlee Luna scored the other.
The junior varsity Lady Packers won their opener at Cairo, 1-0.
McLeod scored the game’s only goal.
The Colquitt County boys junior varsity defeated Fitzgerald 7-0.
“We played well and got playing time for all members of the team,” said coach Andy Chapura.
The goals were scored by seven different players: Yonathan Villeda, Aiden Nunez, Leonardo Lopez, Abdiel Rojo-Guerra, Carlos Valencia-Garia, Victor Morales and Eddy Solario Jimenez.
The JV Packers, now 1-0-1, opened the season with a 1-1 tie at Cairo.

The junior varsity boys program is coming off a 2024 season in which it went undefeated while allowing just four goals and winning the new Super JV Region championship.
The middle school teams will play next on Thursday, February 20, at Thomas County Central.
