wins, ups record to 6-0

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County middle school baseball C-team, made up primarily of sixth-graders, defeated Worth County 16-0 in five innings on Wednesday in Sylvester.
The win keeps the C-team unbeaten at 6-0.
Lane Hutto and Sam Lancaster did the pitching and allowed just two hits while striking out five Rams.
Colquitt pounded out 16 hits, including three each by Lancaster and Ayden Martinez.
Martinez drove in four runs; Lancaster drove in two.
Jarren Harrell and Wade Sullivan each had two hits.
Clark Deloach, Mason Adcock, Ty Roberts, Liam Posey, Jay Baker and Braston Wilson each had one.
Martinez and Sullivan had doubles.
The C-team will play next on Wednesday, Feb. 19, against Cook at Packer Park.
The B-team, with mostly seventh-graders, fell to Worth County 9-5.
The Rams scored three runs in the first inning and added four in the fifth.
Colquitt scored four in the top of the seventh, but came up short.
The B-team had just four hits, all singles, including two by Gage Griffin and one each by Brayden Eubanks and Jerren Harrell, who drove in two of his teams four runs.
Max Bell, JK Howell and Clark Deloach did the pitching.
The B-team, 3-3, is scheduled to play at Jeff Davis on Saturday.
