Middle school soccer teams
win five of first six games

MOULTRIE – The Colquitt County middle school boys and girls soccer teams have opened the 2025 season by winning five their first six games.
The girls and boys Black teams have each won both of their games, sweeping Americus and Hahira on the road.
On Wednesday, the Black team boys won 4-2 over Hahira with Hudson Champion scoring Colquitt’s first goal with 2:50 left in the first half.
Trotter Tomlinson got the Packers second goal with 18:50 left in the match.
Brady Dekle scored the final two goals of the game for the Packers with 7:25 and 42 seconds remaining.
The team’s roster also includes Ethan Nunez, Ivan Pimentel, Danny Ortez, Angel Duque, Alexander Rico Esparza, Daniel Perez, Israel Hernandez, Ricardo Martin-Bautista, Bradon Mata, Stewart Grant, Samuel Moreno, Rocky Lopez, Jose Mayorga, Edgar Vanegas, Joham Sanchez, Abdiel Sanchez, Axel Lopez, Usiel Depaz, Wilvin Loaiza-Rios and Esbeban Garcia.
The Black team’s managers are Carmelo Holden and Bastian Aguilera and the coaches are Matt Burton and Ross Dekle.
The girls Black team, coached by Jessica Anaya, has won its first two games via one-sided shutouts.
In the season-opening 10-0 victory at Americus, Colquitt got three goals from Kayly Garcia; two each from Dyi James and Iris Crisostomo; and one each from Josie Crisostomo, Giana Olalde and Emily Garcia.
Last Wednesday, the Colquitt girls blanked Hahira 7-0.
Iris Crisostomo scored three more goals; Kayly Garcia added two more; James got her second of the season; and Marleigh Hurst her first.
The girls Black team also includes Candance Luna, Maya Meza, Erykah Luna, Thania Sanchez, Grace Santos, Yocelin Valencia, Jocelyn Martin, Angela Duque, Isabella Gonzalez Quintero, Shaila Molina, Emy Gay, Kate Hammock, Mia Cedillo, Ansley Eure and Julia Brown.
The middle school Black soccer teams will play next on Wednesday, February 5, when Pine Grove visits Packer Park.
The Willie J. Williams Middle School Gold teams split its season-opening games at Americus on Tuesday, with the girls winning and the boys falling 4-2.
Eliezer Perez and Erik Gallardo scored for the Packers.
The boys Gold team, coached by Blake Thomason, also includes, Bradley Ajpop Ruiz, Dominic Alvarado, Jeremy Baltazar-Escobedo, Carter Brazel, Jameson Brown, Augustin Coronado Jr., Hogan Gallardo, Bradley Garcia-Romero, Jesus Gomez II, Corbin Goss, Emmanuel Hernandez, Aiden Hernandez Baltazar, Alexis Marquez-Cruz, Jesus Molina, Abraham Moreno-Zacarias, Jaime Najera, Fernando Reyes, Dylan Rojo-Guerra, Noah Sims, Elias Strickland and Ignacio Trujillo.
The 1-0 girls Gold team, coached by Bailey Reynolds, includes Vivian Taylor, Harley Herndon, Betani Olvera, Ansley Linnenkohl, Esmeralda Monita, Grecian Gallardo, Mila Avila, Stephanie Brito-Flores, Zulmy Sarmientos, Marlemy Garcia, Kristin Sanchez, Joslyn Perez, Kenya Leon-Hernandez, Natalie Vasquez, Daira Lucio Salazar, Ella Brooks, Madeline Stearns, Marleigh DeBruce, Guadaloupe Gonzalez, Marimar Santiago, Amber Baker and Rebecca Miguel.
The Gold teams will play next on Monday, February 3, when they travel to play at Lee No. 2.
