MOULTRIE – The deadline to enter a float in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Parade is Friday, January 10.
The annual parade, sponsored by the Colquitt County Branch of the NAACP, is Monday January 20, in Downtown Moultrie. There is no entry fee.
The floats will be judged and a plaque or trophy will be awarded to the top three floats. The theme for this year is “All In: Lifting Every Voice.” Floats will be judged on incorporation of the theme, originality, workmanship and overall appearance and adherence to the rules. A list of the rules and the entry form is online here.
Line-up will start at 1 p.m., in front of First Presbyterian Church, located at 501 First Street SE. Floats will be place in line based on a first come, first serve basis, directed by parade officials.
