MOULTRIE — The First National Bank Moultrie team recently taught a hands-on budgeting class to students in Kaitlyn Conine’s class at Colquitt County High School.
During the interactive session, students were assigned a salary based on their desired career paths and given the opportunity to select homes, cars, and other expenses they felt matched their lifestyles. The exercise revealed eye-opening results, as many students discovered their expenses exceeded their income.
“We truly want to empower students with the financial knowledge and skills they’ll need to succeed in life,” said Lorenda S. Smith, SVP of Marketing and Retail. “Providing financial education is at the heart of our mission to serve and strengthen our community.”
First National Bank is committed to equipping young people with the tools they need to make informed financial decisions, the bank said in a press release. By engaging in real-world exercises like this, students gain a better understanding of the importance of budgeting and planning for their futures.
