Wyatt Spruill, a senior at Colquitt Christian Academy, recently signed with Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Ga., to compete on its varsity clay target team. Spruill has been traveling and competing in shotgun sports for the past six years within the Georgia Independent Athletic Association, Scholastic Clay Target Program and National Sporting Clays Association. During his high school career, he achieved the rank of A-class within the National Sporting Clays Association. As a senior, he finished 10th in the state in sporting clays at the GIAA State Championship in Savannah. He is a three-time competitor at the NSCA Nationals in San Antonio, Texas, as well as at the SCTP Nationals in Marengo, Ohio. He is coached at CCA by his father Robert Spruill and Jeff Cooper during the fall. In the spring he competes under the guidance of Mike Simpson and Bridge Creek Clays. Wyatt will start at Emmanuel University next fall and plans to major in agribusiness.
