GBI promotes Seguin to manage crime lab in Moultrie

MOULTRIE — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Monday the promotion of Cynthia Seguin to manager of the GBI’s Southwestern Regional Crime Lab in Moultrie. Seguin will be responsible for the supervision of staff and others within the Southwestern Crime Lab.
“Cynthia Seguin’s promotion to manager of the Southwestern Lab is a reflection of her exceptional dedication, leadership, and expertise,” said GBI Director Chris Hosey. “Over the years, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, and I am confident that she will continue to drive innovation and foster growth within our team.“
“I am thrilled to see Cynthia Seguin take on the role of manager for the Southwestern Lab,” said Division Director Cleveland Miles. “Her deep knowledge of crime lab operations, combined with her forensics expertise, makes her an outstanding choice to lead the team. I’ve had the privilege of working with Cynthia for many years, and her dedication of the lab’s mission is unwavering.”
Seguin served over 17 years of her GBI career at the GBI HQ Crime Lab in Decatur before transferring to the Southwestern Crime Lab two years ago. She is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
Seguin graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.
Seguin is from Clayton County and currently resides in Colquitt County.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is comprised of three primary divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Laboratory, and the Investigative Division. The GBI has over 900 employees and a current budget of $147,482,036.
