Colquitt flag football team rallies past Veterans 13-6

MOULTRIE – Down 6-0 at the half, the Colquitt County flag football team scored touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters to defeat Veterans High 13-6 on Thursday at Lowndes.
The victory raised the Lady Packers record to 13-5 with four area games remaining.
Quarterback Mashayla Davis completed 8-of-15 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown to Ta’Meria Williams.
Williams had two pass receptions for 38 yards and Caylnn Singletary had two catches for 32 yards. Montana Tatum also had two receptions for 20 yards.
The Lady Packers rushed for just 59 yards on 22 carries.
Amareyia Knighton, who scored Colquitt County’s other touchdown, had nine tackles to lead the defense.
Dalyn Monk had a sack.
Williams, Singletary and Knighton each had an interception.
Colquitt will travel to Lowndes again on Wednesday, Nov. 13, to meet Valdosta and Thomas County Central in a pair of area games.
On Nov. 19, the Lady Packers will travel to Baker County to close out the season with games against Thomas County Central and Valdosta.
