MOULTRIE – The 12th Annual Teen Maze was held Wednesday at C.A. Gray Junior High School with 750 ninth graders participating.

The one-day event — which is, basically, a life-sized “Game of Life” — was set up in the school’s gym, run by 176 volunteers throughout the community, representing law enforcement, emergency services, banking, the hospital and other businesses and agencies.

Vicki Colls, the leader of this year’s event, said Teen Maze was updated with new scripts and new issues like vaping and social media.

“We’re doing what they are facing today,” she said.

Also, new this year was the addition of mentoring booths for boys and girls.

Some of the “choices” the 24 boots presented to students were pregnancy, DUI situations, courtroom scenarios, gangs, banking and STDs.
