MOULTRIE — The following have announced cancellations or closures due to the expected effects of Hurricane Helene:

— Colquitt County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday. All school-related events and activities are canceled for those days. Any additional extracurricular events scheduled for this weekend will need to be evaluated after the storm has passed. At this time, the plan is to return to school on Monday.

— Colquitt Christian Academy will be closed Thursday and Friday.

— Southern Regional Technical College has announced that all its locations will close at 6 p.m. today. Normal campus operations are expected to resume on Monday. The ASN TEAS Exam in Thomasville and Tifton has been postponed until Tuesday.

— Southwest Health District facilities will be closed Thursday and Friday, including the Colquitt County Health Department. The offices plan to reopen on Monday at their regular times.

— Moultrie Municipal Court scheduled for Thursday will be postponed until 5 p.m. Oct. 10.

— Colquitt County offices will close at 1: p.m., Thursday, and plan to open after lunch on Friday.
