The Lady Packers, winners of nine of their last 10 games, still have region series with Lowndes and Tift County remaining.

Colquitt will travel to play at Lowndes, now 3-4 in the region, in a single game on Tuesday and will play host to the Vikettes in a doubleheader next Thursday.

The Lady Packers got outstanding offensive performances from RaJayla McBride and Peyton Arrington, their top two hitters in the lineup, in both games to complete the sweep of the Lady Wildcats.

Colquitt had won 12-0 in four innings at Packer Park on Tuesday.

McBride and Arrington each went 5-for-8 in the two Thursday games.

Arrington had a double in the first game and a triple in the nightcap and drove in six runs, three in each contest.

McBride scored five times and stole five bases.

The senior center fielder is now 27-for-27 in stolen base attempts this season.

Three Colquitt County pitchers combined to allow just four earned runs in the two games.

The Lady Packers took a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning of the first game when Camden scored three times before Arrington, pitching in relief of winning pitcher Kamry Paulk, finally put the Lady Wildcats away.

After Camden scored a run in the bottom of the first inning of Game 1, the Packers got three in the top of second to take a lead they refused to relinquish.

Arrington drove in all three runs with a two-out, bases-loaded double.

Montana Tatum extended the Colquitt County lead to 4-1 when she doubled home Libby Wetherington in the third.

The Lady Packers added two more in the fifth on a ground out and a passed ball and scored their final run on a Wetherington ground out in the sixth.

Colquitt had eight hits in the first game with McBride and Arrington getting two each and Tatum, Rhylee Tillery, Lanie Burley and Lilah Thompson getting the others.

Colquitt jumped out to a 7-2 lead after two innings of the second game, only to have Camden close to within two at 7-5 after four innings.

But the Lady Packers scored three runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth to get the run-rule victory.

In addition to the three hits from McBride and Arrington, Paulk also had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs.

Also contributing to the 13-hit performance in the second were Thompson, who had two, and Tatum and Rheygan Harrell, each of whom had one hit.

Thompson went the first 2.1 innings in the circle, but as she did in the first game, Arrington was solid in relief, giving up two hits and just one earned run while striking out five.

Paulk had a two-run double and Thompson a run-scoring single to help the Lady Packers get off to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

In the three-run second, Arrington tripled in McBride and scored herself on a Tillery ground out. The third run in the inning scored on an error.

After Camden pulled to within a run, the Lady Packers got  all three runs in the top of fifth courtesy of Lady Wildcat errors.

In the top of the sixth, Colquitt used singles by Tatum, Harrell, McBride, Arrington and Paulk to take a 10-run lead.

When Arrington held the Camden scoreless in the bottom of the sixth, Colquitt took its second run-rule victory of the series and headed back to Moultrie.

Also on Thursday, Tift County finished off its sweep of Valdosta, winning 14-0 and 17-1, with both games going just four innings.

Richmond Hill won its series with Lowndes when the two teams split on Thursday.

Richmond Hill won Tuesday’s game 6-1 and Thursday’s first game 3-2, but the Vikettes salvaged the second game with a 5-1 win.

Camden County and Lowndes are tied for third in the region at 3-4. Valdosta is 0-9.
