7 Moss Farms divers earn top-12 finishes at Jr. Nationals

MOULTRIE — Led by Beck and Amelia Gregory, seven members of the Moss Farms Diving team that completed in the recent Junior National Diving Championships returned from West Virginia with 13 top-12 finishes.

The Moss Farms contingent of 15 divers was part of 618 divers who took part in the Junior Nationals, which were held July 29-August 7 at West Virginia University in Morgantown.

Beck turned in the highest overall finish by a Moss Farms Diver when he came in 21st overall.

Diving in the 12-13 boys age group, he was fifth in the 1-meter springboard event, ninth on 3-meter and sixth on platform.

Amelia was fifth on 3-meter and 11th on both 1-meter and platform and finished 35th among the girl divers.

Bo Bridges turned in the best finish of a Moss Farms diver when he and Georgia Diving Club partner Aiden Sadler placed second in the 16-18 boys 3-meter synchro event.

Bridges also was 10th on 1-meter and finished 45th overall.

Ruby DeMott was 43rd among the girls competing in Morgantown, placing sixth on platform and 11th on 3-meter.

Austin Leigh Taylor turned in a 10th-place finish on platform in 14-15 girls.

Kendall Deloach and Elizabeth Ann Hobby teamed up to take a 10th-place finish in the A/B girls 3-meter synchro event.

Several members of the Moss Farms Junior Nationals team were unable to participate, including seven-time national champion ElliReese Niday, who was injured.
