MOULTRIE — City Councilwoman Lisa Clarke Hill has been reappointed to both the Georgia Municipal Association Legislative Policy Council and the Federal Policy Council for the 2024-25 term.

“Moultrie is well-represented at the state level by Dr. Clarke-Hill, a long-time executive committee member of GMA, and Mayor Bill McIntosh, a past president of GMA, member of its honor council, and current executive committee member,” said City Manager Pete Dillard.

The Legislative Policy Council, created in 2002 by the GMA, annually prepares a proposed set of legislative policies for consideration at the GMA annual convention in Savannah. The policies are then presented to the membership for approval at the annual business meeting.

During the Georgia General Assembly legislative session, the Legislative Policy Council provides real-time feedback and advice on critical policy issues at the Capitol. Council members also testify before committees on specific legislation and maintain close contact with legislators in and out of session.

The Federal Policy Council, created in 2013 by GMA, provides legislative advocacy for Georgia’s cities. It builds relationships between city officials and the members and staff of Georgia’s Congressional delegation. Members of the council maintain communications with their members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate in support of GMA’s federal municipal priorities.
