MOULTRIE — The American Red Cross has announced a critical need of blood and platelet donors and has several area blood drives set up over July to address this need.

In Moultrie, a drive will take place 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall, 409 First St. S.E.

While the American Red Cross needs donors of all blood types, those with Type O blood are especially needed. Those wanting to donate blood or platelets can book a time by visiting redcrossblood.org, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or using the Red Cross’ app.

Those donating blood during July will receive a Fandango Movie Ticket through email to see the new movie, “Twisters.” July donors will also be entered into a contest win a 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn. For more details, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Twisters.
