MOULTRIE — The American Red Cross has announced a critical need of blood and platelet donors and has several area blood drives set up over July to address this need.

In Moultrie, drives will take place July 12 from 1-6 p.m. at the Moultrie Masonic Lodge (at 617 5th St. SE) and July 18 from 2-6 p.m. at the Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall (409 1st St. SE).

While the American Red Cross needs donors of all blood types, those with Type O blood are especially needed. Those wanting to donate blood or platelets can book a time by visiting redcrossblood.org, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or using the Red Cross’ app.

Those donating blood during July will receive a Fandango Movie Ticket through email to see the new movie, Twisters. While supplies last, those donating through July 14 will get a Twisters souvenir umbrella. July donors will also be entered into a contest win a 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn.
