MOULTRIE — It took a jury only 34 minutes to unanimously find Thomas Weeks guilty of felony murder.
After two full days of testimonies from those involved with this case and experts in their fields, Weeks has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Weeks was also found guilty by the jury on three other charges: aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, one for the assault and the other for the murder.
Each of the firearm possession charges was merged with the corresponding charge in regards to sentencing, meaning they did not receive their own sentence.
Five years, to be served consecutively to the sentencing on the murder charge, was given for the aggravated assault.
Weeks gave no indication to his inner thoughts or emotions as he was escorted from the courtroom.
