Two CCHS athletes point at state meet

CARROLLTON — Rajayla McBride and Bryce Toomer turned in the best finishes for Colquitt County at last week’s Class 7A state track and field meet.
McBride placed seventh in the triple jump, clearing 36-11.75. She missed sixth place by one-quarter of an inch.
Toomer, who competed in two individual events, was also seventh in the shot put. Toomer’s best throw was 49-10.25. Toomer had also qualified for state in discus.
Jaquez Collier, Dy’Quavian James, Ja’Shar Kinsey and Matt Bryant ran in the 4×400 preliminaries. The Lady Packers had D’Zeriyah Polite, Rajayla McBride, Racardia Robinson and Dalivia McBride were in the prelims of the 4×400.
