Lady Packer tennis falls just short against Valdosta

MOULTRIE — During the final regular season match, the varsity Lady Packer tennis team lost against Valdosta 3-2.
“It was a very tight match,” said head coach Amber Day. “It came down to one team point.”
Wins for the Lady Packers came from No. 2 doubles and No. 3 single.
Emily Lampman played number 3 singles and won her sets 6-0; 6-0.
Doubles team of Jayley Johnson and Laura Gonzales defeated the Valdosta players 6-2; 6-3.
The other doubles team consisted of Candace Moses and Carolyne Turner who lost their match 5-7; 3-6.
No. 2 singles was played by Julia Costins, who had final set scores of 1-6; 3-6.
Finally, with final set scores of 1-6; 7-6 (6-4); 2-6, an intense match was played by Ada Craft in No. 1 singles.
The JV team saw wins in both of their matches against Valdosta.
Nataly Vera and Francis Buis has set scores of 6-3; 3-6; 12-10 for their victory.
Playing singles with 6-0; 6-2 as their final set scores, Jaclyn Wier won her singles match.
The Lady Packers will travel to Richmond Hill on Friday to play the wildcard match to determine which team will proceed to the region tournament.
