- A.F. Shaw Gym saw a decrease in voters after midday rain came but still described the flow as steady. Here, a poll worker explains to a voter how the new voting system works.
MOULTRIE — In Colquitt County, early voting turn-out in the Presidential Primary Election was still on the low side as of Tuesday morning.
“It’s picked up some this week,” said Paula McCullough, Chief Registrar.
She said 873 people had cast their ballots since early voting started Feb. 19.
Early voting ends Friday at 5 p.m., but until then, voters may cast their ballots in person at the Colquitt County Courthouse Annex, on the second floor, in the Commissioners Meeting Room. Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Residents need to choose the political party ballot, either Republican or Democrat, that they want to vote on before they can cast their vote in the presidential primary election.
Election Day is Tuesday, March 12. Any voter who has not cast a ballot during early voting or by absentee ballot can vote at their assigned poll locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day.
On Tuesday, one polling location has been moved. Voters who normally vote at Shaw Gym should go to the Ryce Community Center, 305 Seventh St. N.W., to cast their ballots on Tuesday.
Residents who are unsure of their assigned poll location can visit the state’s “My Voter Page” website for more information or contact the Colquitt County Registrar’s Office at (229) 616-7056 for more information. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
