Lady Packer tennis loses second region match

MOULTRIE — In their second region match of the season, the Lady Packer variety tennis team only saw one win against Lowndes High.

The Lady Packers lost 1-4. They are now 2-4 overall and 0-2 in region play.

The single win for Colquitt County came from number three singles player Emily Lampman. 

Having to go into a tie breaker, Lampman’s sets scores were 3-6; 6-2; 6-6 (7-1). 

Ada Craft, in number two singles, lost her match 5-7; 0-6. 

In number one singles, Carolyne Turner lost both sets 0-6. 

Neither of the Lady Packer doubles teams were able to gain a victory either. 

Candace Moses and Julia Costin had set scores of 2-6; 4-6 in number one doubles.

In number two doubles, with final set scores of 4-6, 5-7, were Laura Gonzales and Jayley Johnson. 

Both additional scrimmage matches for the Lady Packers, played by JV players, were won. 

Jaelyn Wier and Nataly Vera won 4-1; 4-1 in doubles, and Frances Bius won 4-1 and split 2-2 in singles play. 

The Lady Packers will next face Camden County at Packer Park on Friday. Matches begin at 4 p.m.
