Colquitt boys golf team places second in Valdosta Classic

MOULTRIE — Led by low medalist Michael Hall’s 72, the Colquitt County boys golf team shot a 313 for a second-place finish in the Valdosta Classic held Monday at Stone Creek Golf Club.

The Lowndes A team won the tournament with a 313.

Coming in third was the Lowndes B team with a 320.

The Vikings were followed by Tift County, with a 328; Coffee, 341; Lee County, 347; Berrien, 353; Bainbridge, 357; Seminole County, 396; Valdosta, 398; and Bacon County.

Hall’s 72 also earned the Colquitt County sophomore a berth on the All-Tournament team.

Colquitt also counted 79s turned in by freshman Peyton Collins and senior David Strange and an 83 by freshman Reese Hood.

Also playing for the Packers were freshman Leighton Hood and senior James Fagan, each of who shot an 85; junior Harrison Brown, who had an 88; and freshman Jake Rowell, who shot 96.

The Packers will travel to play in the Bainbridge Classic on Saturday at Bainbridge Country Club.
