AAA Packers blank Cook to end 3-game losing streak

MOULTRIE – Three Colquitt County AAA pitchers held Cook to just three hits in a 3-0 victory on Monday at Packer Park.
The win ended a three-game losing streak and raised the team’s record to 2-3.

Davis Lightsey went the first five innings on the mound for the Packers, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out five.
Jackson Edwards worked the sixth and faced just three batters, striking out one.
Owen Bennett finished up, allowing one hit and striking out one in the seventh.
Colquitt scored all three of its runs in the first two innings.
In the bottom of the first, Carter Penuel drew a one-out walk and scored on a two-out single by Bowen DeRosso.
After DeRosso stole second, Carter Summerlin doubled to left to increase the Packers lead to 2-0.

In the second, Tyson Samples got a two-out single, stole second and scored on a Jesus Vazquez base hit.
DeRosso and Rylan Howell each had two hits for the Packers.
Summerlin, Samples, Vazquez and Ethan Allegood had the others.
The AAA Packers will travel to Bainbridge on Thursday to face the Bearcats.
