MOULTRIE – Led by sophomore Michael Hall’s 70, the Colquitt County boys golf A team shot a 315 on Saturday at the Osprey Cove Country Club in St. Marys to finish fourth in the Camden Classic.

Benedictine was first with a 292 and was followed by Frederica Academy, which shot 290.

Region 1-7A’s Richmond Hill was third with a 308.

Freshmen Jacob Rowell and Peyton Collins each shot 86.

The Colquitt County B team got an 87 from senior James Fagan, and 88 from freshman Dawson Lane, a 91 from junior Harrison Brown and a 93 from freshman Canyon Cook for a 359.

Packers coach Andrew Eunice said the team has plenty of potential.

“We’ve got a really young team,” he said. “We had four freshmen in the starting lineup today and two more freshmen on the second team.

“They’ll get more comfortable every tournament. We’re going to try to get better every day.”

The Packers were coming off an appearance in the Berrien Invitational’s two-man best-ball event on Feb. 19, at Circlestone Country Club in Adel in which the Packers shot a 142 and won by two strokes over Ware County.

The team of Hall and Strange had the event’s low score with a 70 and Rowell and Collins were third with a 72.

The Packers will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 26, when they compete in the Wildcat Invitational at Valdosta Country Club.
