MOULTRIE — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority recently engaged ABM to provide upgrades to its facilities.
The project consists of sports lighting, HVAC upgrades, equipment controls, LED lighting, and building envelope improvements that will increase efficiencies in all areas of operations for MCCPRA.

“As the competitive climate around youth sports and sports tourism continues to evolve, MCCPRA understands that to remain relevant requires significant investment, not only financially but also in regard to time, effort, and energy from our team,” said MCCPRA Board Chair, Cole Posey. “Projects like this, through a partnership with ABM, allow us to reimagine and invigorate our facilities to improve the playability and usability for our local community and visitors alike. The MCCPRA continues making strides to develop Moultrie and Colquitt County into a premier athletic destination.”
}This project will upgrade all facilities and parks to LED lighting including the following locations: Magnolia Sports Complex, Knuck McCrary Complex, Ryce Community Center, William Bryant Park, R.D. Smith Youth Center, A.F. Shaw Gym, Drew Field, W.O.W. Park, NW Kiddie Pool, MCCPRA Office, Moss Farms Dive Well, SW Competition Pool, SW Splash Pad, Lynda Baxter Moseley Tennis Complex, Jim Buck Goff Complex, Tommy Meredith Gym and Main Street Park.
“We at MCCPRA have worked diligently over the past several years to upgrade all facilities and buildings to increase the parks and recreation experiences for all citizens of Colquitt County,” said Maggie Davisdon, MCCPRA Director.
”Our citizens deserve the best parks and recreational facilities possible and this recent project with ABM will allow us to ensure all facilities and sports complexes are above national standards but more importantly, this project will continue to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Colquitt County. We have seen continued increases in the use of all parks and facilities as well as increased sports tourism which has a direct impact on the sales tax dollars brought into our community from areas outside of our county. Parks and recreational services have a direct impact on communities through improved quality of life, higher property values, and direct impacts on economic development.”
This project would not have been possible without the continued support of the Colquitt County Board of Commissioners, the City of Moultrie and City Council, and all those who understand the importance of parks and recreation to our community.
