MGs show out at 19th Red, White and You

MOULTRIE — The Moultrie YMCA gymnastics parents club hosted its 19th annual Red, White and You Invitational with 151 girls competing.
We have had several gymnasts qualify for the state meet already.

Our state of the art gymnastics center was finished 21 years ago in February of 2003. Since then we have hosted 2 meets a year. Thank you to our sponsors for this event, Dairy Queen, Zaxby’s, Three Crazy Bakers, Mama D’s and Save A Lot.
Our Xcel Bronze team placed 1st with a score of 113.825 giving them an average of 9.5 per event.
“The bronze girls had a great meet with almost everyone scoring a personal best. Our strongest events were the vault, uneven bars (my favorite event to coach), and floor,” said Coach Dawn Harvell.
The team was led by Libby Parish, in the SR age division, winning the overall champion All Around banner out of all the Xcel bronze gymnasts. She scored a 38.025 AA for 1st (personal best and MG Record). Libby was 1st on vault, 9.625 (personal best and MG Record),1st on bars, 9.625 (personal best), 1st on beam, 9.15, and tied for 1st on floor, 9.625, (personal best).
Maggie Bozeman also in the SR age division placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 37.675 (personal best). She placed 2nd on vault, 9.475 (personal best), 2nd on bars, 9.575 (personal best), 2nd on beam, 9.00 and tied for 1st on floor, 9.625 (personal best).
Leila Garner in the CH age division placed 3rd in the AA with a score of 34.25. She placed 3rd on vault, 7.95, 1st on bars, 9.475, 3rd on beam, 8.00 and 2nd on floor, 8.825.

In the JR age division, Sofia Molina placed 1st in the AA with a score of 37.925 (personal best). She placed 2nd on vault, 9.3, 1st on bars, 9.65 (personal best), 1st on beam, 9.2 and 1st on floor, 9.775 (personal best).
Josie Bozeman in the JR age division placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 37.125 (personal best). She placed 1st on vault, 9.55 (personal best), 3rd on bars, 9.225, 2nd on beam, 9.00 and 2nd on floor, 9.35 (personal best).
Evelyn Strayer in the JR age division placed 3rd in the AA with a score of 35.3 (personal best). She placed 3rd on vault, 8.55 (personal best), 2nd on bars, 9.4 (personal best), 3rd on beam, 8.9 and 3rd on floor, 8.45.
“We have a great group of coaches working with the bronze (Jeremy Merritt and Alex Garner). With their leadership this group is showing improvement at every meet” said Harvell.
Our Xcel Silver team placed 1st with a score of 112.075 giving them an average of 9.3 per event.
They were led by Naomi De Le Cruz who placed 1st in the SR age division with an AA score of 37.40 (personal best). She also received the individual banner for having the highest AA of all Xcel Silver girls. She placed 1st on vault, 9.35, 1st on bars, 9.475, 1st on beam, 9.15 and 1st on floor, 9.425.
In the JR age division, Jaceleigh Smithwick placed 1st in the AA with a score of 36.975 (personal best). She placed 1st on vault, 9.175, 2nd on bars, 9.60 (personal best), 2nd on beam, 8.925, and 1st on floor, 9.275.
Whitley Bozeman, in the JR age division, placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 36.40 (personal best). She placed 5th on vault, 8.65, 5th on bars, 9.325 (personal best), 1st on beam, 9.35 and 3rd on floor, 9.075 (personal best).
Alyssa Howell, in the JR age division, placed 4th in the AA with a score of 35.90. She placed 6th on vault, 8.55, 1st on bars, 9.625 (personal best), 3rd on beam, 8.775 and 4th on floor, 8.95 (personal best).
Brantlee Majors, in the JR age division, placed 6th in the AA with a score of 35.15. She placed 2nd on vault, 9.15 (personal best), 6th on bars, 9.20 (personal best), 5th on beam, 8.175 and 6th on floor, 8.625.
Katie Poblete Morris, in the CH age division, placed 1st in the AA with a score of 37.05. She placed 2nd on vault, 9.10, 1st on bars, 9.475 (persona best), 1st on beam, 9.20 and 1st on floor, 9.275.
Olivia Eubanks, in the CH age division, placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 36.8 (personal best). She placed 1st on vault, 9.15, 3rd on bars, 9.425 (personal best), 2nd on beam, 9.175 (personal best) and 3rd on floor, 9.05 (personal best).
Katie Goble, in the CH age division, placed 3rd in the AA with a score of 36.15 (personal best). She placed 4th on vault, 8.7, 2nd on bars, 9.45 (personal best), 3rd on beam, 9.00 and 4th on floor, 9.00 (personal best).
Lexie Miller, in the CH age division, placed 5th in the AA with a score of 35.65. She placed 5th on vault, 8.20, 5th on bars, 9.20, 4th on beam, 9.00, and 2nd on floor, 9.25 (personal best).
“We are very proud of our girls. They did an outstanding job this weekend!.” said coaches Haley Goble and Katheryn Eubanks.
Melanie Lopez and Allegra Porteus were unable to compete due to ankle injuries. Allegra will hopefully be competing in the Conquistador Classic in a couple of weeks.

They were led by Raley Merritt in the SR age division. She placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 35.55. She placed 2nd on vault, 9.15, 2nd on bars, 9.05, 3rd on beam, 8.20 and 4th on floor, 9.15.
Khloe Booth, in the JR age division, placed 4th in the AA with a score of 34.025. She placed 5th on vault, 8.00, 4th on bars, 8.675, 2nd on beam, 8.425, and 4th on floor, 8.925 (personal best).
Iella Key, in the JR age division, placed 5th in the AA with a score of 31.90. She placed 3rd on vault, 8.60, 5th on bars, 8.575, 5th on beam, 6.025 and 5th on floor, 8.70.
Julianne Carson, in the CH age division, placed 1st in the AA with a score of 33.80. She placed 1st on vault, 8.35, 1st on bars, 8.625 (personal best), 2nd on beam, 8.10 (personal best) and 3rd on floor, 8.725.
Maddy Booth, in the CH age division, placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 33.35. She placed 3rd on vault, 7.30, 2nd on bars, 8.50, 1st on beam, 8.425 and 2nd on floor, 9.125 (personal best). Kinsley Kelley, in the CH age division, placed 3rd in the AA with a score of 33.275. She placed 2nd on vault, 7.70, 3rd on bars, 8.40, 3rd on beam, 8.00 and 1st on floor, 9.175 (personal best). “I am really proud of how well the girls did at this competition. They made several improvements and had 5 personal bests. Our goal each meet is to improve each individual gymnasts score” said Coach Becky Reagan. Ava Solanki who was scheduled to compete had to pull out due to a knee sprain but is supposed to be ready to compete in two weeks at the Conquistador Classic.
Ansley Key in the Xcel Platinum division took 2nd place in the AA, in the SR age division, with a score of 33.65. She placed 2nd on vault, 8.75, 2nd on bars, 8.50, 2nd on beam, 7.70 and 1st on floor, 8.70.
The Level 4 team took 2nd place with a score of 105.475 giving them an average of 8.8 per event.
Kenya Poblete Morris in the JR age division lead the team with an AA score of 35.725 (personal best). She placed 1st on vault, 9.175, 2nd on bars, 8.80 (personal best), 4th on beam, 8.55 and 2nd on floor, 9.20 (personal best and MG Record.
Joselyn Juarez, in the SR age division, placed 1st in the AA with a score of 35.25. She placed 1st on vault, 9.00, 2nd on bars, 8.625, 1st on beam, 8.45 and 3rd on floor, 9.175 (personal best).
Lylah Anderson, in the SR age division, placed 2nd in the AA with a score of 34.50. She placed 4th on vault, 8.50, 3rd on bars, 8.60, 4th on beam, 8.20 and 2nd on floor, 9.20 (personal best and MG Record).
“The girls have worked extremely hard on improving their routines. Their floor scores came up tremendously. We will be working really hard for the next two weeks to improve our other three events by the Conquistador Classic. My goal is for them to improve by at least one to two-tenths” said Harvell.
“I was proud of the USA Level 6 team’s performance at our home meet. They had 12 personal bests and 2 MG Records broke. They took 1st place as a team with a score of 107.05 giving them an average score of 8.90 per event. We have been trying to improve every meet by one to two tenths and it’s showing,” said Harvell.
Eliza Jane Reagan led the team with an AA score of 36.30 earning 1st place in the AA in the Jr. age division. She earned the individual banner for having the highest AA of all level 6 gymnasts. She placed 1st on vault, 9.20 (personal best), 1st on bars, 9.25 (personal best and MG Record), 3rd on beam, 8.30 and 1st on floor, 9.55, (personal best and MG Record).
Nataleigh Bryant in the SR age division had her first meet of this season and placed 1st in the AA with a score of 35.80. She placed 1st on vault, 9.35 (personal best), 1st on bars, 8.325 (personal best), 1st on beam, 8.775 (personal best) and 2nd on floor, 9.35 (personal best).
Kayla Scroggins, in the SR age division, placed 3rd in the AA with a score of 34.95 (personal best). She placed 2nd on vault, 9.35 (personal best), 3rd on bars, 8.05, 3rd on beam, 8.20 and 3rd on floor, 9.35 (personal best).
