Colquitt County High School’s principal, Dan Chappuis, has been hired for the Colquitt County School System Superintendent position.

MOULTRIE — On Monday, the Colquitt County Board of Education named Dan Chappuis, principal of the high school, as the sole finalist for superintendent of the Colquitt County School District.

Following a 14-day period, the board will officially vote at the Jan. 22 board meeting whether to appoint Chappuis to the position.

According to a press release from the school district, 11 applications were received and a number of candidates were chosen for interviews.

The school district announced on its website in November that Superintendent Ben Wiggins would be retiring at the end of the school year.
