MOULTRIE — A knife was pulled on three teen-age siblings Dec. 31, and deputies arrested their mother’s boyfriend in the case.
The incident report from Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office indicates the man was intoxicated when he started the verbal altercation with two of the victims, who were outside.
The third victim was inside and came out to try and defuse the situation once they became aware of what was happening.
Deputies said the 29-year-old man pulled a knife on the three victims, one of whom was a minor, and the altercation became physical.
Two of the victims received superficial injuries, though none were the result of the knife.
The woman arrived, took possession of the knife and took her kids to a safe distance.
Then, deputies said, the man briefly took his anger out on the family dog before sitting down and lighting a cigarette, which is what he was doing when authorities arrived.
The man was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of terroristic threats, two counts family battery and one count cruelty to animals.
This investigation is still ongoing.
