MOULTRIE – A Colquitt County man has been charged with child molestation in connection with an incident after the final home Packers football game on Nov. 17.

The 21-year-old man is accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile while giving her a ride after the football game.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Morris said the victim did not report the incident right away but eventually confided in the high school counselor. Once authorities became aware of the situation an investigation immediately began.

After the victim was interviewed, the suspect was made aware of the allegation against him and came into the Sheriff’s Office of his own accord, Morris said.

“During my conversation with him I was able to gain enough evidence to charge and arrest him,” said Morris. “There was deception throughout his entire story.”

“He is currently out on bail,” said Morris. “He has yet to be convicted and is awaiting his plea date and potential trial.”
