- Becky Giddens, an AmeriCorps member and an assistant with the United Way of Colquitt County, has volunteered with the Children’s Cheer and Toy Shop for two years. Her main task is to gather and distribute the gift bags to the runners.
MOULTRIE — Each year, Colquitt County school social workers work hard to make sure that all students have gifts to open on Christmas Day. The Children’s Cheer and Toy Shop Distribution Day will be on Dec. 12, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 589 Industrial Drive.
Claim tickets have been sent home with the oldest student in the family at the school where the application was turned in to participate. Parents should check with their children if they filled out an application to receive toys through the Children’s Cheer and Toy Shop to make sure that they received their claim ticket. Parents who have not received their claim ticket by Wednesday, Dec. 6, should call their child’s school and speak to the social worker.

All parents who plan to pick up on the distribution day need to have their claim ticket with them. Parents are asked not to bring children with them as these toys are meant to help families celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25.
The onsite contact for the day of event is Angie Kling, who can be contacted at (229) 873-2108.
