MOULTRIE — Continuing what has now become an annual tradition, the Moultrie Federation of Women’s Clubhouse Trustees is hosting its tour of homes on Thursday, Dec. 7.

“Everyone that has attended in the past have said that they’ve had a good time and it was a good way to kick-off Christmas,” said Jessica Jordan, spokeswoman for the clubhouse trustees and Moultrie Federated Guild president.

This year’s event, “Christmas in the Country Tour of Homes,” will take participants down Tree Farm Road to see the homes of Paula and John Neely, Bryanna and Nick Tutcher and Bonnie and Paul Eusner. The tour will start at 4 p.m. and continue through 7 p.m., and parking is available at each of the homes.

“This is the third tour of homes that we’ve had and we wanted to feature neighborhoods in Colquitt County,” Jordan said and added that the first year the homes were on Tallokas and last year they were in Countryside.

She said that she thought this year’s event will be unique because the historic homes that are being showcased are further out in the community, Two of the homes have ties to Frank Pidcock, who was an instrumental figure in Colquitt County’s history.

The event has drawn in not only local residents but also visitors from out of town, she said.

All proceeds will go to the charitable organization to renovate the historic Women’s Clubhouse on Second Street Southeast, which is taken care of through a joint effort of three women’s clubs — the Moultrie Junior Woman’s Club, the Moultrie Federated Guild and the John Benning Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online or from a member of the aforementioned clubs.

“It’s a lot of fun and we hope that you’ll all come out,” said Jordan.
