“I think it’s a really good thing that funds are being allocated for this project,” said Chief Sean Ladson with the Moultrie Police Department.

Colquitt County has been a part of the PSN initiative for years.

“Once a month all the local counties will get together with the district attorney and will go over all cases,” said Ladson. “In that meeting each case will be reviewed and determined if it will be processed locally or federally.”

Most of the cases discussed in these meetings are either gang- or gun-related.

“Right now we have several cases that will be processed federally,” said Ladson. “PSN is a good bridge between us and the federal government.”

FBI Task Force officials work closely with local authorities on the cases being processed at the federal level.

“We have a great relationship with the FBI,” said Ladson. “They are very essential and the fact that we can utilize them and share resources is great. They’ve helped us with a lot of cases.”
