A Capella Choir celebrates 90th birthday

More than 300 current and former members of the choir participated in the concert, including Irma Jean Sparkman, Class of 1952, a member of the first Serenaders group. In February the stage at Withers Auditorium — the same stage shown here — was named for Caldwell. During the performance, current choir director Jimbo Jarvis, Caldwell and two other previous directors, Travis Kern and Kathy Wright, each directed the singers in two songs then they took turns on two songs long associated with the choir: ‘Carol of the Bells’ and ‘May the Lord Bless You and Keep You.’
MOULTRIE — Dr. Bill Caldwell directs alumni of the Colquitt County High School A Capella Choir Saturday evening as part of the choir’s 90th anniversary celebration.
