MOULTRIE — To enable voters to hear the candidates and question them about important issues in the Nov. 7 election, The Women’s Federated Club of Moultrie is sponsoring a debate/forum on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m.
The event will be held at The Bricks, located across the street from Chancy Drugs, at 10 N. Main St. in Moultrie.

Candidates Jeron Bridges, Lisa Clarke Hill and Eddie Warren are running for the District 1, Post 1 seat on the Moultrie City Council, where Hill is the incumbent. All have been invited to the forum.
At least two must be present or that portion of the program will be canceled, the club said in a press release announcing the forum.
The event format will consist of the candidates making timed opening and closing statements and answering questions submitted by the moderator and the audience (both oral and written).
The city council race is the only contested race in this year’s Moultrie municipal election. A county-wide referendum on a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax will also be held.
Election Day will be Nov. 7 at voters’ assigned precincts. Early voting will take place Monday through Saturday, Oct. 16-Nov. 3, at the Colquitt County Courthouse Annex.
