Georgia Pines

The Georgia Pines Community Service Board for area mental health, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases services has scheduled a meeting to be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Georgia Pines Administrative Offices Conference Room located at 252 Woodlands Blvd. (formerly 400 S. Pinetree Blvd., Building 100) in Thomasville. This meeting is open to the public.

Gospel sing

A gospel sing will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 7 at Willow Grove Word of Faith Church. Featured will be The Friendly Five, of Miller County; Jesse Brown; and other choirs.

Peanut Pickin’ Yard Sale

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce and the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority are each offering gathering spaces for people seeking to participate in the 100 Mile Peanut Pickin’ Yard Sale on Oct. 14.

The chamber will set up at the City of Moultrie Utilities Department parking lot on First Avenue Southeast from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To join them, register at (229) 985-2131.

The Rec Authority will set up at Main Street Park 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To register, call (229) 668-0028.

NAMI Night

Christopher Dowling, CPS-MH, WHWC, of the Peer Support, Wellness and Respite Center of Colquitt County, will discuss peer support at NAMI Night Oct. 3 at the First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, corner of Fifth Avenue and Second Street Southeast.

Light refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m., the presentation at 5:45 and Connection/Family Support Groups at 7:30.

Candlelight vigil

Serenity House will hold a candlelight vigil at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Lily Pond Farms Event Center, 275 Dorminey Road, to honor the victims of domestic violence.
