THOMASVILLE — Two Thomasville polling places will be moved following Wednesday action by the Thomas County Board of Elections and Registration.
Polling places at Jerger and Scott elementary schools will be moved to Thomas County Public Library headquarters on North Madison Street.
The vote to move polling places was unanimous.
“These polling places would not be able to accommodate the new system,” said Frank Scoggins, Thomas County elections and registration supervisor.
Georgia has a new voting system that requires more space at polling places. The number of voting machine components has doubled.
Scoggins said the general primary is still scheduled for May 19.
