Archbold reports 80 COVID-19 positive test results across its system

THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Wednesday there have been 80 positive test results for COVID-19 throughout their facilities, and four deaths from the novel coronavirus.
Archbold also has had 255 negative test results. Of those who have tested positive, 24 are patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital and 29 patients are at home.
Fifteen people have had positive test results from Archbold’s Pinetree Boulevard screening site, and 125 have had negative test results for COVID-19. The 64 people awaiting test results from the Pinetree screening site will be notified by their primary care provider.
No patients at Brooks County Hospital has tested positive, and one patient is waiting on test results. Grady General Hospital has two patients who have tested positive and another patient on whom results are pending. Mitchell County Hospital has two patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and another waiting on test results.
No patient has tested positive or is waiting on results at either Glenn-Mor Nursing Home or Mitchell County Convalescent. There are 20 patients at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home who have tested positive and another 32 are waiting on test results.
Gov. Brian Kemp is activating and deploying 100 Georgia Guardsmen to long-term care facilities with COVID-19 cases. A group of soldiers began work at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home on Tuesday night to audit existing sanitation methods, train staff and assist with thorough cleaning of the facility.
More troops were scheduled to arrive Wednesday, with an expected team of 20 to complete the mission.
“We’re very grateful for this support from Governor Kemp, Representative Darlene Taylor, and for the efforts of the troops working hard during these unprecedented times,” Archbold officials said.
