MOULTRIE, Ga. — A woman from Calhoun, Ga., lost her life in a one-vehicle crash Thursday night near Moultrie.
Brittney N. Barlow, 29, was driving in the 2000 block of Sylvester Highway about 10:50 p.m. Thursday when she lost control of her car, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said. He said Barlow overcorrected and the car flipped and rolled.
Barlow was restrained in the car, but Brock said she was pronounced dead at 1:44 a.m. Friday in the Colquitt Regional Medical Center emergency room.
A passenger in the car suffered a broken arm.
This was the second fatal automobile crash in Colquitt County in two days.
Four-year-old Haylon Foster died Wednesday morning when the car he was a passenger in ran off Albert Brady Road and struck a tree. Another 4-year-old passenger was injured.
The alleged driver of that car, Jeffrey McClelland, 48, is charged with first degree vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, D.U.I., and two counts each of child restraint law violation and endangerment of child under 14 in reference to a D.U.I. The investigation is continuing.
