Wanted men arrested in Florida

- Moultrie Police are seeking Ja'Keem Ward, left, and Paul Ward Jr., right, both 18, in connection with a shooting Monday. MOULTRIE, Ga. — Two men wanted for multiple charges in Moultrie were arrested Feb. 6 in Panama City/ Bay County, Florida.
Paul Ward Jr. and Ja’Keem Ward, both 18, had outstanding warrants for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Both were apprehended via a combined effort of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Panama City Police Department, Panama City Beach Police Department and the Lynn Haven Police Department.
According to Deputy Chief Michael Cox of the Moultrie Police Department, the public was integral to the arrest.
“I believe there were tips that led us in the direction [of Florida], we sought assistance from them [the aforementioned police departments] and they helped us out in locating them,” he said.
The two are now in the Bay County Jail and await extradition.
Paul and Ja’Keem are connected to the Feb. 3 shooting at the 400 block of Third Avenue N.W. that left a 17-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
