Live Oak MBC to host Men’s Conference

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Men’s Conference at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, and 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. A brunch will be served on Saturday.
This is a part of the annual Men’s Day Celebration. Theme for this year’s event is “Men Empowering Men.”

Guest speaker for Friday is Minister Clinton F. Harris. A native of Moultrie he is the son of the late Floyd (Buddy) and the late Ethel Hightower of Moultrie.
He accepted the call into the ministry in 2013, and he’s now a minister at New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Miami, Fla., under the leadership of the Rev. D.L. Powell. While serving at New Shiloh, he has served as a Sunday school teacher and is involved in the mission, men, minister and prison ministries.
He received an associate degree in the ministry from Jacksonville Baptist Seminar School of Jacksonville, Fla.
He has been married to Sister Annie Harris for 22 years.
On Saturday, the guest speaker will be Elder Robert Collins of Moultrie, pastor of Overcoming Faith Temple Holiness Church in Moultrie.
Collins was born Jan. 10, 1947, to the late Willie Burch and Ida Collins in Sumner. As a child he attended Parker Elementary School in Worth County and attended J.W. Holly High School in Sylvester. He served the country during the Vietnam War.

In 1990, under the leadership of Bishop Ronnie Burch, he received Christ as his Savior. During his transition, he served faithfully under the leadership of Bishop Johnny Ward as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. In 2002, during a Watchnight meeting, under the leadership of the late Pastor Willie C. Tatum, he joined the Overcoming Faith Temple Holiness Church. While there he served faithfully as a deacon.
On Oct. 11, 2015, he was called to the ministry. Bishop Robert Lawson, pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ Believers in Albany, installed him as pastor of Overcoming Faith Temple.
Collins is married to the former Mae Willie Tatum of Moultrie.
Deacon David Pittman will be in charge of the breakout session.
