Investigators responded to a complaint about use of a house on County Line Road on Jan. 27. While no arrests were made at the time, living conditions in the home were found to be poor, and investigators put in a complaint with the Colquitt County Department of Family and Children Services.

According to Drug Enforcement Team investigator Channing McDowell, the pair’s 9-month old baby was found within the home and came back positive for methamphetamine after testing by the DFCS.

McDowell said Turner told him that neither she nor Crosby smoked around their child. They removed the baby from the room whenever they smoked, and then put the child back in the room when they were done.

Another couple faces drug charges in connection with an incident Jan. 27. A child found in the motel room is being tested for methamphetamine exposure.

Alexia Henson, 22, was charged with possession of meth. John Cole, 26, was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug related objects.

McDowell said the Drug Enforcement Team responded about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 27 to Room 115 of the Moultrie Inn in response to complaints of drug use.

After Henson opened the door, McDowell smelled marijuana coming from inside the room and on her, he reported. He asked if she had marijuana with her and she responded that she did and gave them the bag containing it.

Upon investigating the room, Cole was found hiding in the bathroom. Investigators found a meth pipe with unsmoked meth inside a garbage bin in the bathroom as well. They also found an M&M container with meth inside located on the bed next to Henson’s juvenile child, McDowell said.

The investigators notified the Colquitt County Division of Family and Children Services about the child and DFCS placed the child in the custody of another family temporarily while being tested for methamphetamine.

Also at the Moultrie Inn on Jan. 27, another woman, Kaitlyn Shy Anne Roberts, 21, was charged with possession of Schedule II, III and IV drugs.

According to Drug Enforcement Team investigator Justin Searcy, the team made contact with Roberts in Room 120 of the Moultrie Inn. He said they found marijuana in close proximity to her, and they got consent to search her. He said an array of pills was found on her person, including hydrocodone and hydrochloride.

A Jan. 27 traffic stop yielded one more drug arrest.

Clayton James McMillan, 19, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs.

Searcy said the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office patrol initiated a traffic stop in the 1100 block of First Street N.E. Searcy noted the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver, McMillan.

A search located marijuana and five hydrocodone on his person, Searcy said.
