Women’s Retreat

Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 501 Eighth St., will host the General Missionary Baptist Convention, Inc., 2nd District Women of Excellence Prayer Retreat 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 25.

This year’s theme is “Women of God Bridging the Gap to God’s Kingdom,” based on Ruth 1:16-17. Speakers for the event will be Minister Rebecca Ashford and the Rev. J.W. Greene Jr., pastor of the church.

Usher anniversary

Union Missionary Baptist Church, 103 Second St. N.W., will celebrate its Senior Usher Board’s 97th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26.

Speaker will the the Rev. William C. Morgan, and Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Valdosta is in charge of the service.
