Driver in wreck charged with meth trafficking

- Colquitt County sheriff's investigators said they recovered 2.9 ounces of methamphetamine and $3,500 in cash following a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 33 South at Trailer Park Road Monday.
MOULTRIE, Ga. — A man involved in a two-vehicle wreck was charged Monday with trafficking methamphetamine.
Colquitt County sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle wreck involving Jason Hopper and another driver on Highway 33 South and Trailer Park Road. Investigator Justin Searcy said he was attempting to assist Hopper in locating his glasses inside his vehicle when he observed Hopper trying to hide a small plastic bag from him.
Inside the bag was 2.9 ounces of methamphetamine, Searcy said. Approximately $3,500 was also seized by the Sheriff’s Office.
