EDITORIAL: New Year’s Eve ride home is a great service

In the 2005 animated movie “Robots,” the main character lived by the motto, “See a need, fill a need.” It was a mantra of service that saw him through all the challenges that the plot threw at him.
In the real world, there are people who live the same way, whether they’d phrase it the way the movie did or not. They see something that needs doing and they do it, giving selflessly to fill the need.
A Moultrie business takes the opportunity this time each year to fill the need some revelers have for a safe ride home. This will be the seventh year that Warner Recovery has offered a free ride for both partiers and their vehicles on New Year’s Eve.
“It don’t cost them a dime,” John Warner told The Observer last year. “All they have to do is call us and we’ll get them home safe. Them and their car.”
To take advantage of the service, call Warner Recovery at (229) 668-7376 or (229) 449-5632.
We salute Warner and his business for helping to keep intoxicated drivers off our roads on one of the most dangerous nights of the year.
We want everyone to make it into 2020 safely.
